How Classroom Lockers Help

Have you ever wondered how those trusty lockers lining the classroom walls make a real difference? Here’s why classroom lockers are more than just storage spaces:

    • Organised Chaos:

In classrooms, textbooks, notebooks, and backpacks can quickly create a chaotic mess. However, classroom lockers offer students designated spaces to store their belongings, promoting a tidy and focused learning environment.

    • Encouraging Independence:

Lockers empower students to take charge of their personal space. They foster a sense of responsibility as students learn to manage their belongings and keep them secure.

    • Promoting Security:

School days can be long, and students often bring valuable items like laptops and gadgets. Lockers provide a secure spot to keep these items during class, reducing the risk of loss or theft.

    • Freeing Up Space:

Lockers play a vital role in preventing overcrowding of bags and coats in classrooms. They maximise the available space, ensuring a comfortable and spacious learning environment.

We recycle all of the polyethylene scrap and offcuts we produce in our factory into the shelves, bases and dividers. There is simply not enough recycled polyethylene for our locker manufacturing so we do purchase some virgin PE. All of our lockers are 100% recyclable, in fact in the unlikely event that many years in the future you do not require the lockers we will be happy to 100% recycle them into new lockers.

Yes, you can. You can have any colour body from our standard and premium colours. Link to our colour chart. Checkout the locker builder process –  https://OzLoka.co.nz/locker-builder/

OzLoka® supply plastic batons and components to attach the locker together in the configuration that is required. However, the components to secure the lockers to a wall need to be supplied by the installer. Refer to our installation guide – https://OzLoka.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/LOCKER-INSTALLATION-GUIDE_2019.pdf

OzLoka® lockers are very robust. Whilst most other lockers require maintenance and spare parts for damaged components our lockers require very little maintenance and no spare parts. That is, you can wash out the lockers at the end of the year and clean with soapy water if you wish to remove dirt and in my experience, you will not require any spare parts. FSP plastic lockers are suitable for many outdoor environments and are UV stabilised to withstand sun exposure. However, they are not fully waterproof or watertight, and we recommend installing them under some form of overhead cover or shelter wherever possible.

For additional protection in outdoor environments, we offer the following optional features:

  • Weathershield: A rubber strip fitted around each compartment opening to help reduce the direct entry of rain and snow.
  • Sloping top: Helps rainwater and snow run off the lockers rather than accumulate on top.

While these options provide extra protection, they do not make the lockers fully waterproof or guarantee a completely weatherproof installation. Some moisture may still enter during heavy rain, wind-driven rain, snow or severe weather conditions.

If installing lockers in a fully exposed outdoor location, these limitations should be considered when determining whether they are suitable for your intended application.
